Create Electronic Optical Awarded ISO 26262 Automotive Functional Safety Certificate

The certificate presentation ceremony was held on August 8, 2025, with attendees including Mr. Lo Chih-Wei, General Manager of Create Electronic Optical, Ms. Wei Hui-Zhen, Business Department Director, and the company’s R&D and production core teams, as well as Mr. Chang Cheng-Chang, Vice General Manager of SGS Taiwan’s Connectivity & Product Division, Mr. Ho Chien-Nan, Manager of the Functional Safety & Cybersecurity Services Center, and Mr. Liu Yu-Hong, Product Manager, together with their execution teams.

With the rapid development of automotive electronics, while convenience and diverse functionalities are increasing, product safety and risk management have become critical concerns in the automotive market. As a result, functional safety for automotive products faces challenges across technical development, process control, hardware usage, and software application. To address these challenges, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) established ISO 26262, defining the Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) for functional safety compliance in automotive electronic products. ISO 26262 is recognized worldwide as the standard for automotive functional safety, covering the entire product lifecycle. By passing the ISO 26262 process certification, Create Electronic Optical demonstrates that its automotive systems meet rigorous functional safety requirements.

The Create Electronic Optical team focuses on imaging technology and AI algorithm development, applied to automotive safety assistance products. With over 20 years of experience in the Japanese automotive market, the company develops products based on the concept of a “safe journey lifestyle,” providing solutions for automotive industry clients. Current applications include rearview imaging, 360° surround view, blind spot detection, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, driver fatigue monitoring, night vision assistance, electronic mirrors, AI image recognition, dashcams, cloud management platforms, thermal sensing modules, and IToF modules.

Mr. Lo Chih-Wei, General Manager of Create Electronic Optical, stated:
"We are committed to developing solutions that meet strict safety standards and implementing functional safety-compliant product development processes. Through SGS-TÜV Saar’s ISO 26262 process certification, we will continue to provide customers in the automotive industry with high-quality products and solutions."

Mr. Chang Cheng-Chang, Vice General Manager of SGS Taiwan’s Connectivity & Product Division, said:
"SGS provides comprehensive solutions for automotive electronics, ensuring compliance in product quality systems, production, and design. We are delighted to witness Create Electronic Optical pass this rigorous international automotive standard certification, and we will continue to support the automotive industry."
